Welcome to the Tech Team wiki! This is our basic guide to get started using our services. Other pages in this wiki will give more in-depth information on how to use them.
Before using any of our services, make sure to read the service's wiki page, which will tell you how to use it, and what it's intended uses are.
To use any of our services, you will need to sign up for a UWCS service account. We have a guide to help you with this on our accounts page.
Main page: shell-accounts
Our shell account server, Hopper, is accessible to anyone with a service account. It can also be used to host static sites. Note that Hopper shouldn't be used for long-running applications or scripts.
Main page: containers
We host a Portainer server for running (Docker) containerised applications. This is ideal for long running single applications. By using this, your application will be given fixed resources.
Main page: virtual-machines
Need to run more than one application together, something more complex, or just want a VPS? Our virtualisation platform may be right for you. Contact us if you want to use this.
Main page: game-servers
Our container hosting platform or virtualisation platform are both suitable for hosting games servers.
If you want to set up anything else on our servers, or have any general questions, do reach out to us at tech@uwcs.co.uk, or through the #tech-team channel on Discord.
